Many French universities and other higher education institutions have set up systems to support newly arrived international students. The services offered by each institution vary; they can include housing support (including reserved housing), personalized guidance, tutoring and French language instruction. 

Welcome desks in France

One-stop service desks(guichets uniques) are services put in place at the start of the academic year to facilitate the installation and integration of students in mobility. You will find various institutions and agencies open (police headquarters (préfecture), CAF, OFIL, CROUS, etc.) and reception teams to help you in your administrative steps. For instance, the reception desk in Paris is at the Cité internationale Universitaire de Paris.
